Panasonic TC-L32U3 32-inch LCD TV review

The Panasonic TC-L32U3 is an entry level LCD TV that Panasonic introduced this year. The key features are IPS panel, 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, VIERA Image Viewer and VIERA Link.  The L32U3 does not have Internet TV.

There is no detailed review on L32U3, but the televisioninfo.com did review the L42U30, a closed related model.  The L32U3 is very similar with the L42U30 except the refresh rate: L42U30 has 120Hz and the L32U3 has 60Hz.

According to this review, the L42U30 has a larger viewing angle.  However, the black levels are quite lighter even comparing with last year models such as Sony 40EX400. Therefore, the TC-L32U3 seems not a good buy for the price unless you need a larger viewing angle or you get a great deal on it.

Panasonic TC-P55ST30 review

The Panasonic TC-P55ST30 is Panasonic low end 3D plasma TV, featuring Infinite Black 2 Panel, VIERA Connect, Wi-Fi Ready with LAN (through USB port); Skype Video/Voice calling.  The ST30 has six models and all have the same features except the screen size.  A detailed review on the P50ST30 was just posted.  You can read this review to know what the 55ST30 like. According to the review, the P50ST 30 is much better than last year’s 3D TV, but still has quite bit of motion artifact.

Samsung UN55D8000 and UN46D8000 price leaked

The  Samsung UN55C8000 is one of the top selling 3D LED TVs last year. The  Samsung UN55D800 is the successor of the UN55C8000 with many improvements including the Smart TV and  Samsung’s micro Dimming Pro technology.  The Samsung UN55D8000 and UN46D8000 will be available in the first half of the year.  The prices are as follows:

Panasonic TC-VT30 series prices and date of availability

The Panasonic TC-VT30 is Panasonic’s  top of the line  3D plasma TV featuring an Infinite Black Pro 2 panel, Viera Connect Internet Suite, 3D compatible SD card slot, and THX certification.  The TC-VT30 series  includes one pair of 3D glasses.

The prices of the VT30 series are now available.

• 65-inch TC-P65VT30, available in May for $4299
• 55-inch TC-P55VT30, available in April for $2799

Panasonic E3 series LED TV prices and availability

The Panasonic VIERA E3 series LED TV features Full HD  1080p, 60Hz refresh rate, IPS Panel, easy IPTV in a fine black panel.

The Panasonic E3 series has three models and will be available in the Spring.  The prices are as follows:

• 32-inch TC-L32E3 $699.95
• 37-inch  TC-L37E3 $799.95
• 42-inch TC-L42E3 $999.95

iPad 2 in production

Wall Street Journal reported that iPad 2 is now in production and will be ready for launch in April.  The new iPad will have a more powerful processor, more memory, thinner, lighter and front face camera for facetime.  The prices will be similar as the previous version in the range of $499-$829.  Unfortunately, the widely expected retina display will not be incorporated in iPad 2 at this time.  Read more on WSJ.

Sony Bravia KDL-EX720 series prices available

The Sony EX720 series 3D LED TV features Full HD 1080p with Edge LED backlight in 2D and 3D, X-Reality Engine, Motionflow XR 240 Hz and  Internet TV for streaming.

The Sony EX720 series has five models: the 60EX720 will be available in April and the rest will be available in February.

Sony EX520 series price information and date of availability

The Sony EX520 series  LED TV features Full HD 1080p with Edge LED backlight and  Internet TV for streaming entertainment.  The Sony EX520 series is not a 3D TV.

Sony Bravia KDL-32BX300 review

Sony Bravia KDL-32BX300 32-inch 720p LCD HDTV is Sony’s low end LCD 720p HDTV featuring BRAVIA Engine 2 fully digital video processor; BRAVIA Sync™ that controls compatible devices with one remote. Connectivity includes 5 HD Inputs (2 HDMI, 2 component, 1 PC). The 32BX300 does not have Internet content.

Cnet posted a full review on the KDL32BX300. According to this review, the 32BX300 is a good value.  For small sized TV, full HD 1080p is not necessary.

Canon Rebel T3i / EOS 600D preview

Canon Rebel T3i,  the successor of the Canon Rebel T2i or Canon EOS 550D, will be available in March for $799 body only, $899 with the new Canon 18-55mm/ f3.5-5.6 IS or $1099 with an 18-135mm IS.

The Rebel T3i features an 18 Megapixel CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 image processor, HD video recording, 63-metering and 9-point AF, ISO 100-6400, 3.7 fps continuous shooting, and an new Vari-angle 3-inch LCD with 1,040,000 dots resolution.

The major upgade of the canon T3i over T2i is the Vari-angle LCD.  The swivel live view LCD is extremely useful when compose photographs in many situations you can not do without. You can create some breathtaking landscape images in angles you can not do with normal LCD. You can even put it on a mono-pod and hold above the your head and use a wired remote control to take photos, not to mention that you can take photos of yourself.  Nikon D5000 also has this kind of LCD but the resolution is very low (230,000 dots).
