From what you describe, it seems to me that you only has one video out line. You use it for DVD then can not use it for VCR. I would use the video out for VCR but try to use HDMI for DVD-TV connnection. Since most of the new DVD has HDMI connection. Let me know if this will help! I have also connected the DVD/VCR to the cable box with component jacks. The DVD works fine but I cannot get the VCR to work. Maybe it is defective or I am not mking proper connections. The Quick set up guide for the DVD/VCR says to view VCR, you must connect the Video Out/line out (yellow) jack to your TV but the yellow line is already in use for the component jack. From the research I've done it seems like this is a best buy only product that being the LN46C670. Amazon does not have LN46C670 but it does have the LN46C650. Same scenrio on a few other sites.
