Nikon D3100 is the successor of Nikon D3000 featuring 14.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor; 3.0″ inch LCD Monitor with 230,000 dots, 11 AF point with 3D tracking, ISO 100-3200 (128,000 expanded) and HD 1080p video recording.

Comparing with Nikon D3000, the major differences are:

• Live view and 1080p HD video recording
• Higher resolution sensor (14.2MP vs. 10MP)
• Wider sensitivity ISO range
• Availability of  Raw + Fine JPEG
• HDMI output
• Nikon GP1 GPS unit input
